Tomasz Saciłowski

 

(b. 1972) – visual and performance artist, independent curator and animator of artistic life in Warsaw, and the author of large-scale post-photographic works based on archival materials and industrial waste. For several years he has been running the JIL project space in Warsaw’s Praga district. He received the 2018 Minister of Culture and National Heritage scholarship. In 2014–2018, he collaborated with the Piktogram Gallery, and in 20092012 with the Le Guern Gallery. Saciłowski launched several important social campaigns, including attempts to protect Warsaw’s Rotunda building (together with the Museum of Modern Art in Warsaw and Bartek Kraciuk), and the commencement of the construction of the museum’s new site (together with Tomek Partyka). Saciłowski’s works have been acquired for the collection of Museum of the History of Photography in Krakow.
