Yura Biley

 

(b. 1988) — visual artist and curator. Biley is a graduate of the Academy of Fine Arts in Lviv and has taken part in several arts residencies in Prague, Amsterdam, Warsaw, Katowice, and elsewhere. His work has been shown in cities across Ukraine and Europe. He is a co-founder of Lviv’s Detenpyla Gallery, which showcases contemporary Ukrainian and international artists. Biley also co-founded the Open Group, which curated the Ukrainian Pavilion at the 58th Contemporary Art Biennale in Venice. Since 2015 he has lived in Wrocław, where in 2019 he helped establish the Gold Kiosk, an independent art venue.
